Had you seen the news lately? A 90 year fresh from retirement gets back to working in a nearby grocery.

On another end, kudos to Uncle Sam for finally realizing the banks schemes about making the poor deeper in debt and financial perils. Yes, it is not just true but real that unemployment, disability and welfare checks are even victimized to huge overdraft fees, service charges, penalties and then sent to collections and a persons credit score is ruin with the Credit Bureaus not to mentioned the Telecheck reporting of bouncing checks which the banks cause most of the times because of the huge fees they added.

Don’t you think why this blog post started since then? Because, enough is enough and the powerless limited earners did not a voice before.

Looking at things like this in a macro-economic perspective maybe the real key to healing a soaring recession economy.

 

Do you still put money in your bank nowadays?

It’s funny but some people are saying this statement. Of course, people are using banks for depositing money but it is up to anyone if they withdraw immediately. You can blame them as they are afraid. But today’s economy is like spending, no mater what we have to pay the bills anyways or the collectors and predators will have business.
It is just a matter of individual personal choice what they want to do with their money.

What happen?  But we are told that everyone’s money is safe.   More than ever, regardless we should still support WAMU as these must be just one of the days of trial.

They say because of the massive withdrawals lately, it made the bank unstable but I have hope that they will weather this challenge and storm.

These only again validates on what is happening to America is nationwide an economic depression and recession.  Call it rescue plan, bail out or whatever we must bind together to rise from these trials.

As of Press time on this blog at 7 AM PST, Sept. 26 the DOW JONES is down by 700 points right after President Bush spoke from the South Lawn of the White House on the Rescue/Bail Out plan.

Sen. John McCain supsended his presidential campaign meanwhle and is not sure if he will be there tonight for the presidential debate. On the side, Sen. Barack Obama already awaits where the Presidential Debate is to be held tonigh at Oxford, Mississipi.  Sen. McCain meantime is back on his office in Washington stll trying to monitor about the bail-out negotiations.

The Treasury Secretary who has the clout with Wall Street awaits Washington minute by minute and other bank stocks are extremely down.

The question is a little disturbing to even think as how the low income and working middle class Americans will benefit from the bail out now being debated in the US Congress.

 

It’s quite understandable that nobodies like me worry because in the end we are the ones suffering from this great depression. We are the ones barely eating three meals a day, surviving to get by, cannot pay the bills and don’t know what tomorrow brings.

 

Amidst all these fears, apprehension, and worry, the predators are bombarding us with their scrupulous manipulative tactics to get money from people like me and you who don’t have the money.   Someone asked me today where I get the courage to still voice out my opinions. I simply respond that we don’t take the courage, who will, how will be heard?

 

A lot of low income and the working class are very much hurting.   This is one of the worst insanities on economic hardships of the lifetime.

 

We simply need to keep reiterating; “How will these bail out directly affect you and me”?  It does not make sense if the big guys are relieved from their problems yet the small guy is not.  Not until we see that the small guy is directly affected should we stop asking the questions.

 

When challenges comes into our lives, it is just natural that then we begin asking the questions why, how did it get to this, what happened, etc.., But at the end of each challenge is a new beginning.  The hard part is what people have to go through first for that new beginning.

 

For the last few months, I remember blogging about customer service issues like overdraft fees and the like to point out what goes into the system.   But then of course people like the rest of us are powerless to address such issues.  Then now a financial crisis bail out comes and still we are not heard from before.  What’s politics got to do with this? A LOT!

 

If we were someone with great resources, connections and power, will such issues been be addressed? OF COURSE! But, unfortunately we are not them; we are no one, no power, no money, no authority, no great connections

 

So if we have to keep repeating over and over then simply ask ”How will main street America benefit from the Federal bail out”?

We are also part of the thousands right now with overdrawn accounts.   But the question lies is what are we supposed to do?  We try our best and the same time and very grateful for banks like Washington Mutual in helping as well.   As what the media is saying about the bail out, the package should ge given but there should be a direct relief also on the overdraft charges and fees being posted now to the small guys.  

How can main straet America or the middle class can be be assured that they will be this benefitting from this bail out?

When the bail out is given, there should be a clause that ensures that small businesses and those self employed can be forgiven on these execessive overdraft fees,  If the Feds forgive the banks in trouble, they should make sure that it directly affects the small and low income limited earner. Because right now, what is going on is that overdraft fees are being used left and right to get income to come in to these banks.

When the government comes to the rescue, how can they ensure that banks will also do the same thing to the small business owner, self-employed, low income and limited earner.

How will government police banks that they are giving the bail out but in turn will not also give relief to the small businesses?   What is the check and balance that will be in place?

 

What is Product to Customer Knowledge in Service?

Customer knowledge can produce very good profit and income streams in many ways: it can be categories, merchandising or even increases in the innovation success rate like online banking.

For a bank, listening to what customers and transactions are telling by hearing them and capturing their messages may eventually lead to better customer relationship management undertakings, new product and services offerings.  In a profit perspective this leads to improving customer’s loyalty, economics which also equates with the bank’s profit initiatives.

In category management for example, the products and services leads to their own buying behaviors and dynamics.   In a bank’s product categories for example, they know their customer preferences, price issues and spending behaviors.  Thus, when we have a great knowledge of customers behaviors it will enable the bank to create a higher revenue margin index.  The value is generated from the customer knowledge so the bank can create maximum income streams and products/services than solely relying on traditional bank and service charge principles.

Then after which this leads for new profitability based on this knowldge of the customers spending behaviors.  This is then called “precision merchandising” as it is not a mere educated guess from some research or survey that traditional banks use for their analytical studies.

These new products and services that are then created can become commodities as the bank truly understands their customers and better economics.

Banks have technical capabilities like online banking for example in adding economic value added but not a lot of banks understand that a customer’s freedom of expression and political knowledge might translate to an extremely high success rate for new products against their competitors.

So my question lies, we might have the great financial and technical whiz in the banking industry, but how do you profit from simple product to customer knowledge in service?

America still in “RECESSION DENIAL”?

It is almost February 2008 in a few days  and America is still in denial of a recession?

Stock markets are plummetting all over asia, europe and Wall Street and yet we just can accept the word “RECESSION, RECCESSION, RECESION, whatever!”

It does not take known bankers, financiers or economist to admit to it as anyway the aura and environment is already configured.♥

Simply walk through huge shopping malls HUGE 70% OFF SALE signs, the online marketplace has been transformed to an auction warehouse, especialty brick and mortar stores closing out and liquidating remaining inventory and banks are not engaging any new credit offerrings “nothing new”, etc.., What else needs to be said.

Even my favorite fastfood restaurants has seen decreases in their regular customer purchases. Food simply is the last thing that can be affected but the reality is people are cutting their meals yet they are not on diet.

It is totally understandable that bill collectors are more pressured to do those calls but people who use to be credit sensitive have no more choices to do.

Had you seen and gone to the hard neighborhoods? Homelessness, mental illness, and crimes are on the rise and seems to be a new trend in America’s streets.

As in any case of denial, only when we accept the truth will we then start to heal and work on healing the problem. Yes, this is the state of the American recession in the middle of a presidential nominee from both parties unnamed. In the middle of an Iraq Trillion dollar war, in the middle of politicians and show business tycoons getting the creative advertising money wasted.

However, who am I? A nobody, as one said a loser with no money and power but I am just an example of millions of people living in America today in denial.

The Current Customer Loyalty Program implemented by WAMU

When I first wrote about the frustration I was going through with WAMU, I wanted to validate with other people on their own experiences so we can compare notes. But the game plan was to be heard by the Managament of Washington Mutual Bank and it’s investors.

In the last few weeks and month, a lot of things happen in my personal, business and health condition. Although I did not have so much transactions, I slowly saw changes in the front line of WAMU employeees courtesy, having more concern, empathy and a smile. Perhaps, WAMU’s fairy godmother had done some transformation into the loyalty service on existing clientele base which was my biggest outcry anyway.

Although, I still don’t agree creating such a “limited ACCOUNT transactions” when you are balancing your money from your savings to checking or vice-versa.. They still duck you on that so they can make money which I don’t understand because you are withdrawing from the same account owners’ funds anyways. The use of their ATM or my home phone is a service charge when I exceed my limited telephone calls, autom,ated calls and even ATM machine trsanfers??? Still dooes not make sense.

I wish the Bankers Association include such creiteria when selecting the “REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE BANK”. Otherwise, deceptive marketing will be an issue.

I would like to apologize for so many “POST” (except SPAMMERS) that we cannot include and moderate. Your post was not added because it was also qualifying as a SPAM email having your own products and services advertised.

Should we do get a reply/acknowledgement from WAMU with a request to advertise their products or service, will only be the time for us to rethink allowing people with concerns and advertisements be allowed.

But as mentioned, inspite of, we have seen some improvement in WAMU’s service —- Jan. 2008. Let us stay in context with the blog of being the eyes, ears, voice and mouth of big giants who ignore customers.
